Get to Know Us
The ethos of CLH is collaboration. We believe in supporting all those with a shared vision and finding ways to build on each others’ work. While coming from very different backgrounds, Subilo, Terry and Sibylle all share a similar mission to grow lifelong learners, support one another, and build strong, sustainable communities. They each bring a unique set of talents to the team, and together they founded CLH with the goal of applying everything they have learned so far in a practical way to serve the local community.
Our Initiatives
Practical Learning
Our focus is on learning of all kinds - from structured after-school and weekend courses, to opening our doors to different workshops and learning opportunities.

Learning should be engaging, practical, and connected to the real world.

We want to promote imagination, innovation and critical thinking. Skills and knowledge should be applied to improving our lives.
Literacy
We value literacy as an important door-opener: the key to unlocking access to new opportunities.
We foster both the love of reading as well as teaching the skills needed to become a strong and critical reader.
As most people living in Kabanana do not own any books, our community library fills a critical gap. Our after school literacy classes have been carefully designed to meet the local need.
Safeguarding
Learning should be fun and safe. CLH is designed to be a safe space where members can come to relax, replenish, connect and find joy. We strive to be leaders in safeguarding and child protection by implementing best practices and continually learning and improving our policies and systems. We work on finding resources & sponsorship for people in need of support.
We also offer support to other organisations who want to improve their own safeguarding practices.
